Johannesburg - A man pretending to be a lawyer is to appear in the Protea magistrate's court on Monday on charges of fraudulently representing clients, Soweto police said.
Superintendent Richard Luvhengo said the man allegedly approached families of people who had been arrested promising to get bail for them.
Police believed the man had been involved in the crime for more than a year.
A suspect was arrested in the Protea magistrate's court after a lawyer alerted the police about him.
Ten files, believed to have been stolen, a diary and business cards and a lawyer's gown were seized during his arrest.
