Cape Town - The Cape Town Traffic Services Department has arrested what it says is the city's worst traffic offender - a man with 38 outstanding warrants against his name.
The 68-year-old taxi owner was arrested when he called in at the Bellville Traffic Department to collect his taxi, impounded after the driver had himself been arrested for outstanding warrants.
The city said on Monday that over the past weekend 58 people with 200 warrants worth nearly R300 000 against them were arrested in an operation by law enforcement authorities.
They included a Golden Arrow bus driver who had five outstanding warrants of arrest.
