Johannesburg - A 22-year-old musician was killed after he lost control of his car and it overturned several times on the N1 outside Vanderbijlpark on Thursday morning, paramedics said.
ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said the man was alone in his black Tata Indica when the accident happened around 07:00.
"Details of the accident are not very clear at this stage, but the car overturned several times," said Vermaak.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, the musician - who cannot be named until his family has been notified - was already dead.
"Due to the nature of his injuries, there was nothing paramedics could do to save him."
His car was full of "backtrack" CDs and musical instruments and his guitar was still on the back seat of the car when paramedics arrived, said Vermaak.
