Speedy arrests in PMB murders

Pietermaritzburg - Two men have been arrested in connection with two murders in the Pietermaritzburg area on Sunday, KwaZulu-Natal police reported on Monday.
Captain Joshua Gwala said 21-year-old Maluisi Mbatha was shot at 4am when he got into an altercation with a man in France, Foxhill, about 10km from Pietermaritzburg.
Mbatha was taken to hospital but later died. An 18-year-old man was arrested.
In the other incident the body of Pervershree Naidoo, 23, was found in the bedroom of a house in Reservoir road in Bombay Heights - about 8km from Pietermaritzburg. Naidoo had been stabbed several times.
Police recovered a knife which appeared to be the murder weapon. A 30-year-old man who was believed to be related to Naidoo was arrested.
Both men are expected to appear in court soon.
