Bushbuckridge - A grandfather died in a fire after his two young grandchildren accused him of being a witch, locked him inside his house and torched it, police say.
The children, aged between 12 and 16, have since gone missing.
Micas Khoza, 65, was also apparently hacked with a panga before being burnt to death at about 22:30 on Saturday.
Superintendent Moatshe Ngoepe of police said neighbours in Rainbow village, near Bushbuckridge, had tried to douse the fire, but it was too late.
