Yengeni claim postponed

Cape Town - An R840 000 claim against fraudster Tony Yengeni by the liquidators of Brett Kebble's estate was postponed indefinitely in the Cape High Court on Monday.
Attorney for the liquidators Brendan O' Dowd told judge Dennis van Reenen that the parties were "talking", and asked that the matter be postponed sine die.
The liquidators were seeking a summary judgment ordering the former ANC parliamentary chief whip to pay them back with interest, plus their legal costs.
The money was allegedly paid to Yengeni by Tuscan Mood, a shelf company in Kebble's stable, over an 18-month period from July 2003.
The liquidators claim in court papers that he was not entitled to the money, and had been "unjustly enriched".
Kebble, who was chief executive of JCI, allegedly set up Tuscan Mood in 2003 as a real estate company and used its bank account to receive the proceeds of his fraudulent activities.
He died in a shooting in September 2005.
The liquidators' action against Yengeni is separate from a R250 000 high court action the trustees of Kebble's estate have brought against him.
