Johannesburg - Students and staff of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in the Eastern Cape, will march against racism and rejection, the university said on Tuesday.
"Staff and students will join hands on Wednesday, to promote a multicultural university and society," NMMU spokesperson Roslyn Baatjies said.
The university encouraged all staff and students to join the march.
"Staff and students are invited to unite and publicly declare that they stand for a multicultural university and society where diversity is celebrated and the rights of all are respected," she said.
The march will take place from the Summerstrand (North) Campus at lunchtime on Wednesday, moving to the Summerstrand (South) Campus where the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Derrick Swartz, will address staff and students.
