Johannesburg - ANC president Jacob Zuma says greater resources must be devoted to the fight against crime, the SABC reported.
In a speech to a meeting of Afrikaner businesspeople at Somerset West he called for an increase in the number of police officers on the streets and for a review of the salaries they receive.
Zuma has also criticised the justice system, saying suspects in serious crimes obtain bail too easily.
He has urged citizens and non-governmental organisations to join the fight against crime.
