Knysna - A former DJ, who is standing trial for the murder of two young women, told a packed courtroom on Monday of the "passionate sex" he had with one of them on the night she died.
The other victim apparently masturbated him on the night of her death.
Heinrich van Rooyen, dressed in a grey shirt, black pants and a black leather jacket, stood in the dock of the circuit high court for the first time on Monday as the defence started its case.
He testified how he and Jessica Wheeler, 19, danced in Stones on the night of October 13 2005 before having sex in a parking lot behind the club.
It was 'lekker'
According to him they left the club about midnight. She briefly visited Zanzibar across the street to "get the eyes off her".
They then went behind Stones to a dark alley where they partially pulled down their pants. Van Rooyen graphically described how they had sex. "It was very passionate. It was lekker, it was nice."
They then got dressed, Van Rooyen returned to Stones to get his CDs and Wheeler went to Zanzibar, where they danced again.
He walked home where Nadia Nel, the mother of his two sons, unlocked the door of his parents' house in Belvedere Street, Hornlee.
The next morning Nel asked about the deep scratches on his back.
Wheeler's body was later that morning found in the garden of the Anglican Church St George in the main street. According to the post-mortem she had been sodomised.
During cross-questioning by state prosecutor advocate Christenus van der Vijver Van Rooyen denied that he had penetrated her anally.
About a month later, on the night of November 9 2005, Van Rooyen and Victoria Stadler, 20, "danced and kissed" before they left Stones hand-in-hand to go to Zanzibar.
According to Van Rooyen Stadler offered him a lift to Hornlee.
They went to her car, which was parked in front of the library.
He said there was a heap of clothes stacked almost to the roof of her car and he battled to move back the passenger seat. Van Rooyen testified that Stadler helped him unzip his jeans and masturbated him.
She then dropped him off at the taxi stop in Hornlee. He didn't want her to drive into Hornlee as she could get lost and because of "gangsterism". Stadler apparently made a U-turn and drove off, and he walked to Piramid Street where he and Nel was living at the time.
Stadler's body was found in the Noetzie forest five days later.
The case continues.
