Cape Town - The City of Cape Town says it is to introduce an undercover "ghost squad" in a bid to clamp down on serious traffic violations.
The unit, part of the traffic services division, would operate in unmarked vehicles, the city said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Dubbed the Ghost Squad, members of this specialist force will focus on collision-causing traffic offences such as reckless and negligent driving," it said.
Details would be released at a media briefing on Thursday by mayoral committee member for safety JP Smith.
