M1 blocked after accident

Johannesburg - Emergency personnel were on Monday trying to remove bodies from a wrecked vehicle following an accident at Xavier off-ramp on the M1 north, Johannesburg metro police said.
The driver of the car lost control and crashed while being chased by police early on Monday morning, said spokesperson Wayne Minnaar.
Details of the accident were not immediately available, he added.
The M1 north freeway at Xavier off-ramp has been completely blocked off. Motorist are advised to use the N12 as an alternative route, and go off Kliprivier, said Minnaar.
