Johannesburg - The Constitutional Court has ruled that shelters for displaced foreigners should remain open for another five weeks until the reintegration process is completed, the Gauteng government said on Friday.
Spokesperson Thabo Masebe said those remaining in the shelters would be moved to one consolidated site.
The government hopes to have finalised the site for this soon.
The court also ordered the province to continue "engaging" with the legal representatives of the refugees who fought to keep the shelters open, "to speed up the process".
