Pretoria - Four people, including a police sergeant, were arrested by the anti-hijacking task team on Monday for allegedly being in possession of stolen property in different parts of Pretoria, police reported.
Inspector Percy Morokane said the police team arrested two men at a house in Soshanguve following the hijacking of a Volkswagen Caravelle on Sunday. The vehicle was recovered.
The sergeant was arrested in Silverton after a car radio linked to the hijacked vehicle was allegedly found in his possession.
The fourth suspect, believed to be the leader of the group, was arrested in Mamelodi. A stolen BMW was also recovered.
Morokane said more arrests were expected and the four were due to appear in the Pretoria magistrate's court soon.
