Polokwane - A Wednesday morning press briefing with newly elected ANC president Jacob Zuma has been postponed, the party said.
Spokesperson Steyn Speed said officials thought it was more "appropriate" for Zuma to address the media only after addressing the conference.
"We apologise for creating expectations," he said.
"It's very unfortunate but that was the deal with officials and it has not been possible to persuade them otherwise."
The briefing has been postponed to Thursday after Zuma delivers his closing address to the conference.
