Ulundi - Newly-elected African National Congress president Jacob Zuma has cancelled a visit to Nongoma where he was to meet Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini and take part in the annual First Fruits festival.
While there was no official comment, sources told Sapa that Zuma had
arrived in his home province from Polokwane much later than planned and
"was tired".
It was believed that Zuma spent the night in Nkandla and would be there on Saturday.
Zuma was also scheduled to attend an event in Greytown on Sunday, however details of his attendance could not be confirmed.
Durban businessman and Zuma supporter Erwin Ullbricht said Zuma would
also visit Nkandla on December 28.
"He will be playing Santa Claus and hand out gifts to destitute children... this is an annual event," he said.
