Johannesburg - Police are investigating a shooting at the Bishopscourt home of Social Development Minister Zola Skweyiya, the Cape Times reported on Monday.
National police spokesperson Vish Naidoo said no one was injured in the shooting on Sunday.
Further details were not available, but it appeared the shots had been fired at or near the guardhouse outside Skweyiya's state home, Naidoo said.
"We don't know exactly what happened, we're yet to interview the member (police official) who was on duty at the time," said Naidoo.
He said only after the interview would police have more clarity on the matter.
Naidoo said there were "several theories" police were looking into, but he would not say what these were.
Skweyiya's spokesperson, Lakela Kaunda, said the minister was in Paris at the time of the shooting.
