ACDP delighted with ruling

Cape Town - The African Christian Democratic Party welcomed Friday's Constitutional Court ruling enabling it to contest local government elections in the Cape Town metro council next week.
"I feel like screaming with joy," the party's mayoral candidate Pauline Cupido said minutes after the court passed its verdict.
"It is a victory for the democratic process. Voters have been enabled to vote for their party of choice."
Cupido said the ACDP had never slackened its electoral campaign, and was ready for the March 1 poll.
"And if any issue arises, we will fight for the community with the same sense of urgency and seriousness that we fought this court case."
