Cape Town - The 27 accused in the parliamentary travel scam case are being charged with fraud totalling about R24m, according to a provisional indictment.
The indictment was handed over to their defence teams by prosecutor Jannie van Vuuren at the Cape Town magistrate's court on Friday.
They face an alternative count of theft of the same amount.
Van Vuuren has applied for the MPs' case to be transferred to the Cape High Court for trial on July 31 next year.
Magistrate Hennie le Roux is to rule later on Friday on the application, which is being opposed by the defence lawyers.
Earlier on Friday he granted an application for the trial of travel agency boss Graham Geduldt and travel agent Nazley Lackay to be transferred.
The accused include 21 current and former MPs, 19 of whom were in court on Friday. The rest of the 27 are travel agency staff.
