Cape Town - The Ginwala Commission's report on Vusi Pikoli's fitness to hold office as National Director of Public Prosecutions could be made public soon, government spokesperson Themba Maseko said on Thursday.
Briefing reporters following Wednesday's regular Cabinet meeting, he said the report had been handed to President Kgalema Motlanthe on Tuesday afternoon.
"The president is studying the report and he will release its contents as soon as all the due processes have been concluded," he said.
Motlanthe would also announce his decision on Pikoli's future in due course.
Maseko said Motlanthe had indicated he would try to do so as soon as possible and "we should hear in a matter of days what the president has decided".
Former president Thabo Mbeki suspended Pikoli last year following what he described as a break-down in the relationship between the prosecutions chief and former Justice and Constitutional Development Minister Brigitte Mabandla.
