Pretoria - Weekend media reports suggesting that the African National Congress has told the public broadcaster that it no longer wants it to act as a propaganda machine for the party was dismissed by SABC chief executive, Dali Mpofu on Monday.
The Sunday Independent reported that the newly elected ANC leaders were unhappy with the SABC for becoming embroiled in the succession debate between President Thabo Mbeki and ANC leader Jacob Zuma.
The SABC reported that Mpofu had refuted claims that he was summoned to Luthuli House last month because the ANC was embarrassed by the broadcaster's "bias and lack of credibility".
