ANC admits non-delivery

Johannesburg - The non-delivery of services could cost the ANC dearly in Wednesday's local government poll, a senior party leader said on Sunday.
"Unless the ANC continues to serve and deliver to the people of our country... the ANC cannot expect to be voted back time after time," ANC national chair Musiuoa Lekota said at a rally in Soweto.
"Only when we fulfil (our promises) people will vote us back time after time.
"Therefore we go into the local government elections with a plan to make local government work even better than before," Lekota said at a packed Orlando Stadium where the ANC had one of its six weekend rallies in Gauteng.
He said the ANC national executive committee made the observation that non-delivery of services could cost the party dearly while preparing for Wednesday's election.
Lekota was accompanied by ANC NEC members Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Amos Masondo and Gauteng MECs Nomvula Mokonyane and Firoz Cachalia.
The police estimated there were about 10 000 people at the stadium.
