Cape Town - Former ANC national chairperson Mosiuoa Lekota arrived on Saturday in Langa to address a meeting of disgruntled ANC members who had gathered in the Western Cape.
Lekota who arrived amid ululations and jubilation from the about 3 000 strong crowd, will be addressing the meeting later today. Also at the meeting is Western Cape former community Safety MEC Leonard Ramatlakane.
Chanting pro-Mbeki slogans and mainly wearing yellow ANC 'Mbeki for President' T shirts, the group arrived in taxis and buses when they earlier entered a community hall.
The meeting is in protest of developments within the ruling party including former president Thabo Mbeki's removal from office.
Evidence of divisions in the province came to the open when a group of disgruntled ANC members boycotted a provincial conference.
The group went on to hold its separate meeting, accusing the ANC leadership of being insensitive to its concerns.
Meanwhile president Kgalema Motlanthe will address the ANC provincial general council meeting in Gugulethu about 10km from Langa.
