DA to quiz Nqakula on e-mails

Johannesburg -Safety and Security Minister Charles Nqakula will be asked about arrests relating to the ANC hoax e-mail saga when parliament resumes in May, the Democratic Alliance said.
"The public has a right to know when the arrests will be made, who is to be arrested, and on what charges," DA spokesperson Roy Jankielsohn said on Sunday.
He said unless charges are brought soon, National Commissioner Jackie Selebi would give the impression of trying to prevent a public trial which could embarrass the African National Congress.
"It is quite possible that, if (former National Intelligence Agency director-general Billy) Masetlha was charged and forced to take the stand in court, a very messy and unwanted trial would unfold, particularly for the ANC, as the matter goes to the heart of the fight within the party," said Jankielsohn.
He also said Selebi was quoted in March saying that charges would be brought.
Contacted by Sapa on Sunday, Selebi's spokesperson Senior Superintendent Vish Naidoo said the police would not comment on the issue.
The emails purported to be a communication among ANC leaders implicating them in an alleged conspiracy against former deputy president Jacob Zuma and ANC secretary-general Kgalema Motlanthe.
