Eskom is set to seek a 34% hike in electricity tariffs, back from the 88% rise it had been considering due to the global economic slowdown, a newspaper says.
Johannesburg - Power cuts would start on Tuesday and would follow the schedules published nationally at the weekend, Eskom said.
Chief executive Jacob Maroga said power cuts had initially been scheduled to start on Monday.
"... (It was) postponed to address last minute issues by critical stakeholders," he said.
"Due to the state of the system (on Monday), we were able to accommodate this delay."
