Jakarta - A powerful earthquake rocked Indonesia's Sulawesi island on Wednesday, triggering panic among some residents, meteorological officials said.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
The 6.3-magnitude quake was centred under the sea around 150 kilometres south of the city of Manado in northern Sulawesi, the US geological survey said on its website.
A meteorological official in Manado said some people fled their homes when the quake struck.
