Bush: Disaster response probed

Washington - US President George W Bush said on Tuesday he would investigate what went wrong with the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts and send vice-president Dick Cheney to the stricken areas.
Turning aside a question about whether he would replace officials widely criticized over Washington's reaction to the killer storm, Bush said he would "lead an investigation to find out what went right and what went wrong".
The president said Cheney would travel to afflicted areas on Thursday with the mission of assessing recovery efforts and removing any "bureaucratic obstacles" to helping the survivors.
