Baghdad - Three of the six Egyptian telecom employees kidnapped last week in Iraq were released on Tuesday, leaving two colleagues still held hostage, a spokesperson for their company said.
"We have information on the release of three hostages.
They may arrive in Baghdad tonight, but I am waiting to see them with my own eyes to confirm this," a spokesperson for the Egyptian telecom giant Orascom told AFP.
Earlier on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Orascom announced that one of the Egyptian hostages had been released on Monday night, together with two Iraqis working for the same company.
The six Egyptian hostages were captured together on September 22 near the western Iraqi city of Qaim.
Two Egyptian engineers also working for Orascom were snatched last Thursday in Baghdad.
Their fate remains unknown.
