Baghdad - Bahrain's top diplomat was ambushed and wounded in Iraq's capital on Tuesday, officials said.
Hassan Malallah was shot on his way to work in the Mansour district of western Baghdad, said Dr Muhanad Jawad of Yarmouk Hospital. The injuries were not believed life-threatening.
It was the second attack against a senior Arab envoy in the last four days. Late on Saturday, gunmen kidnapped Egypt's top envoy in what appeared to be a campaign to discourage Arab countries to strengthen diplomatic ties to the United States -backed Iraqi government.
