Washington - Saddam Hussein, captured by US troops on Saturday, is no longer in Iraq, the US television network CBS reported Sunday, citing unidentified military sources.

A CBS News correspondent in Saddam's northern Iraq hometown of Tikrit, near where Saddam was captured, said he had learned from military sources that the former Iraqi president was no longer in the country.

US Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez, the top US military commander in Iraq, said in Baghdad on Sunday that Saddam "is currently under coalition custody and at an undisclosed location."
