Doha - British aid worker Margaret Hassan, kidnapped in Iraq, pleaded to the British people for help to secure her release by asking Prime Minister Tony Blair to pull British troops out of the country, in a video broadcast by Al-Jazeera on Friday.
"Please help me, please help me, these might be my last hours," a sobbing Hassan said on the tape, heard in English. "I will die like Mr (Kenneth) Bigley", the British hostage executed in Iraq earlier this month.
"Ask Mr Blair to pull the (British) forces out of Iraq and not to bring them to Baghdad," she said, in other comments which were only audible though an Arabic voiceover.
"Please help me, O Britons," said Hassan, a dual British and Irish national who married an Iraqi and has lived in Iraq for 30 years. She was kidnapped on her way to work Tuesday.
