Baghdad, Iraq - Militants have released two kidnapped Indonesian women who were handed over Monday to the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Baghdad, diplomats said.
The two women, Rosidah binti Anan and Rafikan binti Aming, arrived at the embassy at 10:30 an Emirates diplomat said on condition of anonymity. He declined to provide further details.
An Emirates government official in Abu Dhabi, the capital, refused to comment on the matter.
Abu Dhabi TV broadcast footage of the pair in long black cloaks known as abayas, sitting quietly in a lounge at the Emirates Embassy in Baghdad.
They appeared nervous but unharmed as they sat between officials. There was no audio on the tape.
