Arbil - Turkish troops have fully withdrawn from a key stronghold of Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq, the spokesperson of the rebel Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) said on Friday.
"Turkish troops have completely withdrawn from the Zap region at the border," spokesperson Ahmed Danis told AFP.
"But heavy bombings are still going on in some other areas."
Zap, located northwest of the city of Dohuk in northern Iraq near the Turkish border, has a large training base for the PKK.
Iraq's Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari told AFP that Turkey has ended its incursion on Friday morning.
