Cape Town - News24's users have granted US Democratic hopeful, Senator John Kerry, a landslide victory over President George W Bush.
In a poll posted on News24, nearly two-thirds of users (66%) said they would rather see Kerry in the White House over the next four years than Bush (34%).
At the time of publishing, a total of 3150 users had cast their vote.
While South Africans seem to favour the contender over the incumbent by a large margin, on US soil the polls show Bush and Kerry locked in a dead heat.
As the final day of campaigning got underway, polls from the Washington Post, Zogby International and American Research Group had the race tied at 48%, while Fox News reported a 46% deadlock.
On the state level, the race for electoral votes also suggests it could go either way.
Polls show that Bush has 25 states with 213 electoral votes under his belt, while Kerry has 14 states and the federal district nailed down with 190 electoral votes.
With 11 states and 135 electors up for grabs, campaigning will heat up with Bush and Kerry both vying for the swing states of Florida (27 electors), Ohio (20) and Pennsylvania.
