Tutu slams Catholic sex stance

Dublin - Former South African Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu has slammed the Catholic Church for its disapproval of the use of condoms as a way of preventing the spread of Aids.
Addressing an international Aids conference in the Irish capital Dublin, the Nobel laureate said the idea that promoting condoms caused promiscuity was totally untrue, as proved in a recent study by the Christian Aid organization.
Also at the conference, pharmaceutical companies came under attack by one woman with the HIV virus.
Anastacia Kamylk, representing the Belarussian Positive Movement organisation, said the pharmaceutical firms continue to charge high prices for drugs that could control the virus and have failed to save millions of lives.
