Gustav triggers fatal landslide

Santo Domingo - Authorities say eight people have died in the Dominican Republic in a landslide triggered by Hurricane Gustav.
The civil defence agency director says the victims who died overnight in the capital of Santo Domingo were members of one family. Director Luis Luna Paulino says more than 5 000 people across the country have been evacuated as a result of the storm.
Gustav also killed three people in neighbouring Haiti. It is creeping toward Cuba as a tropical storm but is expected to turn into a dangerous Category 3 hurricane in coming days.
