Jerusalem - A leading member of Israel's Labour Party, Haim Ramon, on Wednesday became the first legislator in his faction to join Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's new political list.
Sharon on Monday quit the Likud Party he helped to found more than three decades ago because party dissidents opposed to his Gaza Strip withdrawal threatened to paralyse him in parliament.
Ramon was one of the main proponents of forming a broad centrist party made up of members of Israel's three largest political factions, Labour, Likud and Shinui.
