Gaza City - Two Palestinian policemen and three suicide bombers were killed and 20 other people wounded on Saturday in a foiled twin attack on the Erez crossing point between Israel and the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian security source said.
The Israeli army released to Palestinian authorities on Saturday evening the body of 18-year-old Mohammed Abu Daya, who had intended to blow up a jeep disguised as an Israeli military vehicle, packed with explosives.
Daya died in the explosion of his jeep, while Israeli troops shot dead two other would-be suicide bombers, Hatem Tafish, 18, and Mohtad Abu Bayed, 30.
A senior Palestinian official had said earlier that one would-be bomber was killed when his vehicle exploded and that a second was shot dead.
Two Palestinian policemen were also killed in the abortive attacks.
