Paris - French authorities on Wednesday cancelled several Air France flights to Los Angeles airport after the US embassy in Paris warned it feared they might be used for terrorist attacks.
Air France said six flights from Paris to Los Angeles had been cancelled because of unspecified "security reasons".
Interior ministry officials said the order was given after a top-level ministerial meeting was called to consider the embassy alert.
In Los Angeles, officials said the city's airport was experiencing its tightest security clampdown since the September 11, 2001 attacks.
The United States at the weekend raised its nationwide alert of attacks to an "elevated" level.
