Taipei - Taiwan police have shut two suicide websites which recruited 150 members and helped several people kill themselves, Taiwan radio said on Thursday.
Kaohsiungg County police remanded a young man and a young woman for prosecution on charges of helping people to commit suicide, the Broadcasting Corporation of China (BCC) said.
"They launched the suicide websites separately around March 25 because both have suicidal tendencies," BCC said.
More than 1 000 people had since visited the websites and 150 joined their "Suicide Family" club to discuss their feelings on the internet and make suicide pacts.
The two had posted the complete manual of suicide by Japanese writer Tsurumi Waturu on their websites and had invited people to vote on the best way to commit suicide. - Sapa-dpa
