Luanda - Cholera has claimed more than 570 lives over the past two months in Angola.
On Wednesday, the country's police vowed to join the fight against the epidemic.
The World Health Organisation, in a statement issued late on Tuesday, said 576 Angolans have died of cholera since February 13.
It said the country had abysmal sanitation facilities and was acutely short of drinking water.
Spokesperson for Angola's national police force, Carmo Neto, said: "We are determined to give our support to sanitation authorities to fight cholera."
