London - Prince Charles's office indicated on Monday that his wedding to Camilla Parker Bowles could be rescheduled so it would not conflict with Friday's funeral for Pope John Paul II.
The Vatican confirmed that the funeral would be held on Friday. Italian news agencies reported it would start at 08:00 GMT.
Speaking before that report, Charles's office at Clarence House said the wedding was still scheduled for Friday.
The major ceremonial occasion, a service of blessing, is set for 13:30 GMT.
"But we remain sensitive to events that are happening elsewhere around the world and are continuing to assess the situation," said a spokesperson, speaking on condition of anonymity.
