Tel Aviv - Militant Palestinians ignored a call to end hostilities and fired at least five rockets into Israeli settlements and bases in the Gaza Strip overnight and into Monday, Israeli media reported.
No injuries were reported.
In the West Bank Israeli soldiers arrested six alleged members of the radical-Islamic Hamas movement.
With the escalation of violence that has rocked the region since a suicide bomber attacked on Tuesday in the central Israeli city of Netanya, killing five people, Palestinian Authority President Mahoud Abbas Mahmud Abbas called on radical Palestinian organisations for a complete adherence to the cessation of hostilities.
After meeting with Hamas representatives on Sunday, Abbas said he was "determined" to end the attacks on Israeli communities.
A spokesperson for the Hamas Islamic movement reaffirmed its commitment to the truce with Israel, on the condition of a cessation of Israeli attacks.
"Any aggression from Israel will be returned," said the Hamas spokesperson.
