Earthquake in China kills 11

Beijing - At least 11 died and hundreds were injured when an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck early on Saturday in east China's Jiangxi province.
"Six people were killed in Jiujiang county," said a local official. "Another 247 were injured, and 8 072 buildings were toppled."
An official in nearby Ruichang city said five people had been killed there, while 39 were injured.
He added the casualty figures from the two locations did not overlap.
The quake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale and struck at 08:49(02:49 SA time), said the China National Seismic Observation Network.
