Kathmandu - At least 22 people were feared dead on Thursday after the bus they were travelling in plunged into a flooded river in central Nepal, police said.
The bus, carrying 29 people, plunged into the Trishuli river in Dhading, 140km west of the capital Kathmandu, on Wednesday, police said.
"Security police rescued seven passengers out of the river but failed to pull out 22 men and women trapped inside the bus due to heavy floods," police said.
"The rescuers also failed to pull the bus out of the river and there is very little hope of rescuing anyone alive now."
The cause of the accident was unclear.
