Nairobi - Ugandan police have interrogated a former headmaster and 10 teachers about a boarding school fire that killed 20 young girls and may have been started on purpose, state media reports.
DNA tests were needed to identify all but one of the girls, who were mostly aged eight, after the blaze swept through their dormitory a week ago at Budo Junior School near Kampala.
Local newspapers had quoted a survivor as saying a liquid, possibly petrol, was poured through a window first.
On Tuesday, the state-owned New Vision newspaper said a former headmaster and 10 former teachers who left the school last month had been quizzed by detectives. It was not immediately clear if they would face any charges.
Police had already arrested 11 suspects: the matron who was in charge of the gutted dormitory that night and 10 security guards working for the school.
