Gaza City - Hamas will not consider any ceasefire until Israel ends its occupation of the Palestinian territories, the movement's new leader Abdelaziz Rantissi said on Wednesday.
"As long as we are under aggression and occupation we are not ready to speak about a ceasefire," he said.
Rantissi was speaking as he received condolences at a football stadium in Gaza after the Israeli assassination of the movement's spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin on Monday.
Rantissi was named as Yassin's successor late on Tuesday.
