Al-Qaeda plan Euro 2008 attacks

Geneva - Al-Qaeda is targeting the Euro 2008 championships in Switzerland and Austria for possible terror attacks according to messages on Islamist websites, Swiss police warned on Thursday.
"The Euro 2008 tournament is a target cited by the Islamist terrorist network," federal police spokesperson Juerg Buehler told Swiss daily La Liberte, highlighting messages on Islamist websites.
"We are following the situation very closely," he said.
