Nairobi - Kenya's opposition leader said on Tuesday he will not meet with President Mwai Kibaki for the first time since an explosion of post-election violence.
Raila Odinga told a news conference that he believed Kibaki was "trying to deflect attention from and undermine" international mediation to resolve the crisis in which some 500 people have been killed and described the planned meeting as "public relations gimmickry".
Odinga had previously said he would attend Friday's meeting if it were part of international mediation efforts.
