Warsaw - Poland's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBS) has detained five suspects on allegations of selling several hundred Polish women into sex slavery in Italy, Poland's RMF radio reported Thursday.
Traffickers, including a couple from Warsaw, recruited the young women using newspaper adverts for waitresses in Italy.
After having their trip to Italy paid for, the mostly young women were obliged to return the debt by engaging in prostitution.
The CBS was continuing the investigation into the case on Thursday. - Sapa-dpa
