London - British Airways cancelled its afternoon flight from London to Washington for the second day on Friday after security advice from the British government, said an airline spokesperson.
The same flight, BA 223, was cancelled on Thursday with the same explanation.
On Wednesday, BA 223 was kept on the runway at Washington Dulles International Airport for several hours shortly after landing, while United States authorities questioned passengers and crew.
Friday's flight was cancelled less than two hours before take-off. Some passengers had begun to check in.
The airline declined to comment on the nature of the security advice on Friday.
"It was following advice from the UK government regarding security, we can't comment further than that," said a BA spokesperson.
